Speggi Sause
from Chris's kitchen.
Chris's slow-simmered tomato sauce — three hours on low heat, finished with Italian sausage or meatballs.
Ingredients
- 2 - 28oz cans crushed tomatoes
- 1/4 c. olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon dried Italian spices
- 2-3 diced garlic cloves or 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon sugar
Steps
- Heat oil, add Italian spices & garlic, sauté approx 1 min until garlic is light brown. Add crushed tomatoes + sugar.
- Cook 3hrs on low heat.
- Brown Italian sausage or meatballs in separate pan then add last hr to Sause.
