Giant Chocolate Chip Cookie

One giant chocolate chip cookie baked in a pizza pan and cut into wedges — crisp edges, soft chewy middle, loaded with chocolate chips and walnuts.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, beat the butter, white sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
  3. Gradually add the flour, salt, and baking soda, beating until well blended.
  4. Stir in the chocolate chips and walnuts.
  5. Spread the dough in a greased 14-inch round pizza pan.
  6. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20 to 25 minutes.
  7. Cool the cookie in the pan on a rack, then decorate as desired.
