Broiled Lobster Tails
Quick broiled lobster tails with garlic butter.
Ingredients
- 4 lobster tails (10 oz each)
- 1/4 cup salted butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper
Steps
- Rinse the defrosted lobster tails and pat dry.
- Butterfly the lobster tails: using scissors, cut down the middle of the top of each shell toward the tail end without cutting through the tail. Spread the shell open, lift the meat gently upward so it sits on top of the shell, then release.
- Preheat the oven to broil (500°F / 260°C). Position the oven rack so the lobster tails on a baking sheet will be 4–5 inches from the broiler.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, crushed garlic, lemon juice, smoked paprika, and cayenne.
- Brush the butter mixture over the lobster meat.
- Broil until the meat is opaque and lightly browned, about 1 minute per ounce of tail weight (for 10-ounce tails, approximately 10 minutes). Internal temperature should reach 140°F.
